UPSAT Version 3.0 Is Here!

December 14, 2012 in Design, Featured

So it’s been a while since our last post. In fact, the last time we posted it was to tell you that UPSAT Version 2.0 was launching with all kinds of new bells and whistles… well this time it’s to tell you we’ve added even MORE fun stuff with Version 3.0!! We’ve been hard at work cranking through code and drawing some pretty pictures and we think we’ve added a bunch of new features that you’re really going to love. So, without further ado, here’s what we got! The biggest and most obvious new feature is that we’ve replaced OpenFeint with Scoreloop for all of our leaderboards and achievements. Unfortunately, OpenFeint sold out to a Japanese company Gree and decided it’d be great to leave all their developers in the dust and shut down their servers. Bad news for us because it created a lot of unexpected work, but great news for you because we got to bring you a better system that delivers a much faster and cleaner experience. Scoreloop still has all the standard online play kind of stuff, but we’ve also implemented some new features such as news updates which will allow us to tell you about

UPSAT Version 2.0!

Buckle up boys and girls, you’re in for a wild ride on the news train! In case you haven’t noticed we’ve taken some long strides in UPSAT Version 2.0. Among other minor fixes, the big changes were the addition of a “Send to Facebook” button on the Game Over screen that lets you show off your awesomeness to all your friends, and the creepy-crawly Alien Invasion Mini-Game Pack! To go along with the new game pack we’ve implemented a new mini-game unlocking system which individually unlocks the new games according to your lifetime points. It looks a little something like this: Ok… it looks EXACTLY like that, actually. As you can see you have a few thumbnails representing each of the new games with the number of points needed to unlock each one. Once the game is unlocked the thumbnail will light up and you’ll get a nice little message to let you know to start watching for the new game the next time you play. There’s also an enabled button which lets you turn off the whole set of games if you decide you don’t like this or a future game pack. Speaking of future game packs, if you

New Games Coming Soon!

June 7, 2012 in Design, Featured

Due to our new found fame tiny community of players, we’ve decided to put the afterburners on all of the improvement projects we had scheduled for UPSAT. Some of this you have already seen when we released the Version 1.1 update last week which featured some minor bug fixes, but I’m here to tell you that, “You ain’t seen nothin’ yet!” Throughout the past couple of weeks, Ryan and I have had many meetings and brainstorming sessions to come up with all the improvements we’d like to see implemented. The first major improvement will be a developer notification system. We want to be able to communicate with you about promotions, sales, upcoming updates, etc from right within the game, so we’re working on something that will allow us to do so easily. The second major improvement is going to be the addition of several language settings from within the options menu. I’m developing a list of all the text we currently use in game and we’ll be translating it into Spanish and German to start. A huge, “Thank You!” goes out to one of our Twitter followers @kurtextrem for helping us with the German translation. We’re working hard right now to

“We believe that developers should have the freedom to price their games how they like, without interference from the online stores that sell the games. Why? Because it allows us to promote our games more freely, as we are doing here! We rely on the ability to promote our games for our livelihood and control over pricing is an important tool for this purpose.” – Because We May Website As a part of the Because We May sale, UPSAT will be discounted to $0.99 during the week of May 24th, 2012 – June 1st, 2012 along with TONS of other great Indie games from other developers! Making Money With Android?

**UPDATE** In May 2012 we participated in the Because We May sale and have seen a large increase in Downloads since then! We posted a full day-by-day update during the sale and included all of our new information : Because We May Sales Update **UPDATE**   UPSAT has officially been live for almost 2 months, so I thought it would be cool to share some facts and figures with you. Unfortunately, the launch of our first game has been somewhat disappointing. Despite all of our social networking, press releases, and even getting a good review, we haven’t even been able to break the 100 download mark yet. FACTS AND FIGURES I’m going to start this post off with the cold hard facts and then later on I will get into what went wrong, and our plans for the future. To date we have sold 13 copies of the full version for a grand total of $9.10. The free version isn’t doing much better with only 84 total installs, of which only 25 remain active. I honestly don’t think this is a bad retention rate, but the total installs just isn’t doing it for us. We’ve received all 5 star reviews (only
